LikedThe property has total 4 rooms(2 up, 2 down) basic but clean.. good for small group of families traveling together so that you can have whole place to yourself.kannur west beach hmestay the view is coconut trees and marshy mangrove backwaters with birds, so goto the beach you have to walk for few minutes on a muddy trail n cross a small bridge. The beach is not private but very less crowded compared to other beaches. Homemade food cooked at the property can be requested and is reasonably priced. Make sure to inform about your preferences in advance. Host is courteous and available when needed.

LikedKannur West Beach Homestay is a very peaceful place set among palm trees with a beautiful view on back waters and only a few minutes away from the beach. Biju is a great host and helps you with everything you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The food is great and the accomodation is very clean.

Liked just took over the place and one thing we can say for sure is that they are awesome people! They will make you feel like home 🙂 The place is also really nice and peaceful, located along the river where you can watch (and listen to) plenty of exotic birds while you are drinking a homemade chaï or fresh coconut water right from the tree. The beach is 2 minutes walking from the house and remains wild, you will probably be alone or almost, if you want to relax and/or swim there. Staff is always available for drinks, food or whatever you like to get. There is lot of space in the rooms and they are well furnished and really clean. Cherry on the cake (like we say in French),  (who you must call Kaluni) work as tourism consultant so he can arrange sightseeing, shopping, restaurants, taxi / tuk tuk… Etc. Enjoy 😉

LikedShah is a friendly and helpful host and the food provided is great, particularly the breakfasts. A Silent and relaxing spot with a view over a little lagoon teeming with bird life, the languid afternoons just pass by. The almost empty beach is jaw-dropping and great for a morning swim.

LikedI like everything about this place. The host, Mr Sha, is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacious, pleasant and spotless clean. It’s located in a quiet area around 6 km from Kannur. You can catch the bus to town for 10rp about 10-15 mins walk from the homestay. The nearby beach is quiet and very clean compared to other beaches in India. Sometimes you can be pretty much alone there. The waves can be a bit rough until you go on the other aide of the breaking point. I wouldn’t recommend this beach to families with small children. There are no restaurants nearby, but the lady working here will prepare all your meals for you if you want it. And the food is sooo delicious 🤤 If you book a room on the upper floor you will have an excellent view of the mangroves with an abundance of bird life. The whole area is very serene and surrounded by beautiful nature and swaying palm trees. All in all, this place is so nice. I had planned for 6 nights here. Ended up staying for 11 nights 😁

LikedIf your looking for a quiet relaxing getting away from it all holiday, this is the place to stay,with authentic home cooked food and the most amazing scenery out over the wetlands opposite with an abundance of wild life it is truly perfect. Our host Sha could not do enough for us and with him and his wife cooking the best Indian food we’ve ever had , great accommodation and a lovely beach a 5 minute walk away along a beautiful river path we had a perfect stay. LikedMr. Sha is an amazing host who will go out of the way to ensure a good stay. The property is situated next to backwater where you can find migratory birds. Location is 2-3 mins walk from the beach. Beach is very clean and serene. Food is good and Mr. Sha will try to provide homemade as per requirement. Overall a brilliant stay at this. Would definitely recommend this place.

LikedThis is an amazing place to stay. It is just a couple minutes to walk to the beach along water in a naturey setting with many beautiful birds. The host is so kind and helped me out a ton during my stay. The meals were so delicious!!! The beach you have access to is absolutely beautiful. Room was spacious and clean. If you go for the king room with balcony you can enjoy watching birds and sunrises from your balcony! This is an ideal place to be. 🙂

LikedThe food was really amazing and delicious.. one should must try their in home cuisines. A totally worth stay with beautiful views nearby. The hygiene wise this place is great. No mosquitoes at all even this place surrounded by greenery. Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Didn’t notice single dust anywhere.

LikedThe stay at the Kannur West Beach Homestay was exactly what I was looking for. Peaceful, quiet place with stunning views, great hospitality and true Kerala cuisine. You don’t find many places like that one. Truly enjoyed it and would recommend it to everyone looking for a day or two or for some maybe two weeks away from the rush of a big city. Enjoy!

LikedThe room is spacious. The host Mr. Sha is an amazing person. The cook is great with Malayali cooking & we enjoyed the food. Since we were the only guests, we could order what we liked. They will provide lunch, dinner or a picnic lunch at extra charge. The location is not easy to find at night. There is a beach approximately 300 meters where the river meets the beach. Mr. Sha mentioned laundry services (only washing/drying or only ironing or both) are available at a nominal cost. He knows a couple of auto drivers who he can arrange to take you out. Prebook the auto. Mr sha sends you the google location & also asks you for your location to track once you arrive into kannur. Payment is by cash or google pay.

I am enjoyed beach and kannur west beach homestay

• We really enjoyed our time at this beach homestay. The location is beautiful and there’s a small semi-private beach just for the guests. The host was really remarkably helpful and particularly in being accommodating of our requests for different local foods and we ate some really sumptuous meals here! I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a quiet restful vacation by a beautiful beach.

We found here the best cooking of India!
Nice people, very helpful with information about things to do in the neighborhood
We liked our visit to Telicherry, the fort, the beach with fishermen, fishmarket and the famous biryani at Paris restaurant.

A comfortable and cosy stay in a scenic and calm location. Surrounded by backwaters and mangroves, a short walk takes you to Thottada beach. The caretaker, Muhammed Ali, was really hospitable and helpful, eager to guide and help us. The food served was traditional, homely and delicious.

The beach just 5 min walk from the property which is connected to the back waters and is not crowded at all

Rooms are neat and clean. The team was very friendly and helpful. The place is well situated with a spectacular view over the fields and backwaters. There are lots of different birds that come by and you can spend your evenings on the balcony bird watching. It’s very close to the beach, 3 – 5 mins walk through the fields and along the backwaters and you arrive at Thottada beach. The village itself is very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone who is in search of some peace and quiet. Would be nice if they can make some beach towels available for the guests

Little paradise with an amazing hospitality. A simple and authentic place, with the best authentic Kerala food we’ve tried on our journey. Sha is an amazing host and did everything to make sure that we have the best stay, bringing us fruits and toddy, and helping to navigate the events in the local temples. This homestay has also a perfect spot for bird watching. It’s located 5 minutes away from the beach, and the walk to the beach through the coconut groves, with backwater views is so gorgeous. Thank you Sha!

It is a simple place with very easy access to a rather secluded beach. Mr. Shah is a great host and is ever willing to help. He has a great cook who makes amazing Kerala food that one must try. Do no expect anything fancy and be sure to carry your on basic toiletries. Also, the approach road can be a bit tricky as it is made of lose gravel and sloping. But a nice clean place with a great host

Best place I have stayed at in India, and I have been traveling here for nearly a month. The room was large and clean and the food was excellent. Jisi was very kind to bring me to a Theyyam ritual, which was amazing. He also dropped me off at the bus station on his way to Kannur when I left.

The beach is a 3 minute walk from the house and is perhaps the most beautiful beach I have ever seen! The house itself is surrounded by beautiful jungle.

I had a great time staying at Jisi’s place. The property is backwater facing and is a 5 min walk from the beach. It was a clean no frills room, which is what I expected in such a serene location. Mr. Sha is always available to help out whether it is to arrange transport or pick you up from a nearby location.

If you are searching for relaxation, recreation, pure nature around you and a very nice white sandy beach nearly for you alone…this is your place! The place is just osm and it’s covered by coconut trees entirely and upfront there is a backwater and beach is just 5mins walkway from the stay. The hosts are very helpful and kind, cooked delicious food for us but they had difficult to understand English. Overall stay was very good but they didn’t clean the room everyday. Small suggestion, clean the room once in a day.

Well, the hosts are humble, simple helpful fellas. They will serve you with a smile. They will help you if you are lost. They will give you the tips you need about area. they will accommodate any changes you request.
The room is spacious, the bathrooms are clean. There is ample car parking(not every homestay so close to beach can claim this). The place is less than 5 min walk from beach. Please carry a torch with you if you plan to stay back at the beach to watch sunset. We don’t realize sitting at the beach how dark the route back to room becomes.

the thotada beach, where this property is, is pristine. It’s not very crowded. I did not find even 10 people on the beach during the couple of hours we spent every morning we were there. There are a few people on the beach in the evening but it is still not very crowded.

The area does not have many restaurants or general stores for you to grab a quick bite. But you can rely upon the owner to cook sumptuous kerala food for you at a very reasonable price.

The area has good connectivity for cell phones, but somehow GPS is not very accurate. So , unless you have a strong sense of directions you might get lost. But you can always call the host and they will guide you. I would suggest going on foot for nearby places and see if host can arrange and auto for you in case you plan to visit some place a bit far off(I saw a few other visitors doing this) instead of your own vehicle.

Overall it was a very good value for money for us.

I spent some nice and quiet days at Sha’s and Jisi’s place, they were very welcoming and helpful regarding my further travels, how to get around, drop off at the bus Station etc. The food was just awesome, although you have to pay extra (but there’s no restaurant or bar nearby), but it was totally worth it. The walk to the quiet and clean beach takes about 3 minutes, so the location is just great if you want to spend some quiet days off the beaten track. The rooms were simple and clean, with big windows towards the backyard. Would defintiely stay again!

We spent 3 nights here. Our train was delayed so we arrived around 9pm. We took a rickshaw from Kannur and Sha met us near his house and drove us the remainder of the way. The food was superb and very generous. Breakfast is included. Other meals are around 150rs per person per meal. The room overlooks wetland so nice for birds. Thottada beach is in walking distance (off road path). There is a bus from Adi Kadalayi temple which takes you into Kannur. Jisi and Sha were great hosts and tea was always available! Highly recommend this place if you like somewhere quiet, off the tourist trail.

I booked this place at the last moment and thanks to the quick response of the host, I got it. It’s a place run by Mr Sha and his wife Jisi, Both are very welcoming and friendly. The stay was great, very clean spacious room and washroom. The location was awesome as there is an untouched clean beach just 5 mins walk from the stay. The beach is accessed by only localities and a few travellers. As the location is a bit inside from the main road there are no restaurants around, but the host has that too covered with their tasty fingerlicking home food. I traveled there on my bike and the morning I was supposed to leave, the bike developed a starting problem. But thanks to Mr Sha, he called up people and took me around in his personal car on the lookout for a mechanic, most of who were not available as it was a Sunday and most of the shops are shut on Sundays. He took care of the problem and spent around 3 hours with me untill l got a mechanic to fix the bike. This hospitality was beyond my expectations and he treated me like his own family. Will surely recommend this place to othes

I was thrilled to find this perfect place with great hospitality and friendly owners close to a quiet clean beach. As I was booking last minute I was impressed with quick response time and ease of communication and arriving to this somewhat secluded location. It is about 5km from Kannur town among coconut trees and peaceful nature. There are no shops or restaurants close by so I was lucky to enjoy beautiful home cooking (at extra but inexpensive cost). This place is new and clean. Lovely owners!! Thank you

Great hospitality by Ms.Deepa and courteous service by her staff members. Location is perfectly suited for a getaway. The beach, a short walk away, is clean and untouched. The rooms were comfortable and the staff – Ali, was prompt to attend to all our needs. Great food too! Overall highly recommended.
